About this event
Join curator/artist Haifa Bint-Kadi on the First Friday of every month for a LIVE Junk Journal workshop as she turns recycled materials, junk mail, vintage paper, and ephemera into personalized, handmade books that anyone can make. This workshop will often cover binding, layering, and decorating with pockets and a variety of found objects like tea bags and fabric scraps. This is not an interactive session, but it is an opportunity for you to learn and create along with her or just observe the process.
Materials may include: Glue sticks, waxed linen thread, wet glue, scissors, junk mail, book pages, used tea bags, binder clips, washi and masking tapes, vintage papers, cardboard, fabric scraps, recycled cardboard and more. Look for the box on this page that says: Journals & Bookmaking https://ypl-org.zoom.us/j/83673158177?pwd=0ugFpNlOWNEBzwyyi0cfySf8VrODsj.1
