Hudson River Museum

The Hudson River Museum is the largest cultural institution in Westchester County, featuring galleries, a planetarium, an amphitheater, and educational spaces, situated on the banks of the Hudson River in Yonkers, New York.

Exhibitions at the museum include art, science, and history, with one notable feature being Glenview, an 1877 Gilded Age home on the National Register of Historic Places, designed by architect Charles W. Clinton, currently closed to the public for an important restoration project.

The planetarium has shows for every level and interest, exploring topics such as the mysteries of the moon and the search for life beyond Earth, and the museum hosts various events and programs, including Free First Fridays, where mind-bending demonstrations and current exhibitions are showcased.

A large parking lot with free parking is available, and the Museum Shop sells items like exhibition catalogs, kids' toys, and art supplies, while the lawn is also open to those who bring their own mat or blanket and maintain social distance, with a self-check coat room and lockers for convenience.

The museum provides accessibility features, including discounts for visitors with disabilities, free admission for their caregivers, wheelchairs, and Radio Frequency Assisted Listening Systems in the Planetarium and Amphitheater, and while service dogs are welcome, pets and emotional support or comfort animals are not allowed.
